On 27 March 2017, the BLC, along with the Warsaw Bar Association, organised a guest lecture by Peter Goodman, titled: The Law in the Great Sport: Representing the Teams and the Drivers in Formula 1.

Peter Goodman started his career defending in high profile criminal cases, later moving into divorce law and finally ending up in sports law. During his long career representing Formula 1 and individual teams and drivers, he has negotiated team contracts and sponsorship deals for all the big names. His most high-profile case was representing the successfully-acquitted Williams team in a criminal case brought against them in Italy for manslaughter charges arising out of alleged responsibility for the death of Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna at the San Marino Grand Prix in May 1994.

The lecture was open to lawyers and BLC students, and provided an exciting first-hand account of legal practice in motor sports and negotiating sponsorship deals with celebrities and sports personalities!!
