On Friday 25 November 2016, the BLC Lecture Series continued with a guest lecture by Professor Michael Dougan, BREXIT internet sensation and Dean of the Liverpool Law School, titled: The UK and the EU: BREXIT, Living Apart Together.
During the lecture for BLC students, which took place at the University of Warsaw Faculty of Law, Professor Dougan elaborated on the constitutional issues surrounding the Article 50 TFEU notification, and gave his own grim predictions for everything from the worsening of the national economy, the imposition of a border between North and South Ireland, to the weaknesses of the UK bargaining position in withdrawal negotiations. In his view, transitional arrangements are absolutely necessary, so watch this space to see if they come to light
